These 'next generation' solar heating units make use of boro-silicone glass vacuumed collector tubes. Inside the vacuum tube there is a copper absorber plate coated with specially formulated blue high absorption / low emission pigment that will absorb the light energy from the sun. This energy is converted into heat and conducted to the central copper pipe with very special thermal properties. Hot vapour from this gas will transfer the heat upwards towards the external heating element where it will then be available for heating purposes. |

Well.. gone are the days of inefficient, leaking solar panels and those unsightly flat plates that freeze up in winter. Goodbye also to "if one part fails, the rest fail too". These interchangeable glass vacuum tubes never come into contact with the water, making it both safe and simple to maintain without interrupting the normal operation of the system. Should a vacuum tube accidentally be damaged, it can be replaced without affecting normal operation of the geyser. In fact, the unit can safely continue to function minus a tube or two until a replacement tube can be fitted. Impressed? So are we.. that's why we at ISOLL decided to take up the challenge to adapt this system specifically for the potentially much more favourable, yet very challenging African extremes. Our particular conditions also required the introduction of a 12 Volt dc pump when thermo-syphoning is not possible. This has a dedicated photovoltaic panel to ensure an independent backup system during possible power failures. All our research and development facilities are located on our premises.. which means; we lead, others follow. Installations are done in one day to ensure minimal discomfort to the household. The ISOLL range is fully SABS compliant. |

Covered in icy sleet, this ISOLL Aquarius will quite simply go into hibernation until the sun returns. Totally unaffected by the sub-zero temperatures, it will simply shrug off it's chilly coat and continue to function as if it never happened.. |

Temperature Pressure release valves, better known as TP valves, are a compulsory basic requirement in accordance with SABS Standards. However, a major stumbling block is that TP valves were never specifically designed for geysers operating at controlled temperatures, and were therefore never intended to open and close quite as frequently. Unlike an electric element, the sun cannot switch off at a certain pre-set temperature. This may possibly result in a malfunction of the TP valve on a solar heated geyser, causing potentially hazardous overheating due to the valve's failure to close. To eliminate this problem, ISOLL developed the unique isotec temperature control valve which effectively overcomes this vital safety requirement. |
